signing up to volunteer for ADKC

The amount of commitment ADKC requires from its volunteers is very flexible and is set by the volunteers themselves. They may be available to meet regularly once a week with a member, or they may prefer to volunteer on a one-off basis as and when they are free. Volunteers are also given ID cards like the one below which prove that they are working for ADKC and are therefore a valued and trusted member of the community.

As with many voluntary sector organisations, ADKC carries out a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) check on its volunteers. In order to carry out the check volunteers will need to fill in a disclosure form and bring in three documents which we will make photocopies of. These documents are:

  • A passport or driving licence.
  • An official document showing your NI or NHHS no. (they are the same)
  • A bill from a statutory body or utility, not more than three months old, addressed to you and giving evidence of your current address.
